FG CHIC: Poise, Power and a Touch of Peacocking: The Moments That Defined Autumn/Winter 2026 

Autumn/Winter 2026 arrived with a sense of recalibration after last season’s carousel of designer debuts — but make no mistake, the drama remained deliciously intact. London in particular delivered spectacle with a knowing wink.

At Natasha Zinko, family ties became a runway thesis. The show, staged in the labyrinthine Victorian tunnels of Waterloo, turned theatrical when Mel B stormed the catwalk alongside her daughter Phoenix Brown — part strut, part performance art, entirely unforgettable. Timing, too, was impeccable: the former Spice Girl had just reflected on her 1990 runway debut for Julien Macdonald. 

Elsewhere, Chopova Lowena proved that fashion and fairways can coexist. Designers Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena-Irons transformed their presentation into a tongue-in-cheek pitch-and-putt fantasy, complete with personalised golf balls. Static? Yes. Staid? Never. Ingenuity scored a hole in one.

Royal approval followed at Tolu Coker, where Charles III made a surprise front-row appearance at 180 Strand. The collection’s meditation on social mobility felt especially resonant, framing modern London as a mosaic of culture, colour and ambition.

Across the Atlantic, Khaite secured the most coveted front row of New York Fashion Week. Naomi Watts and Sarah Pidgeon — fresh from Ryan Murphy’s “Love Story” — joined Elizabeth Debicki and Gemma Chan at the Park Avenue Armory, swathed in Catherine Holstein’s louche leathers and quietly commanding separates. 

And nostalgia, that perennial fashion muse, shimmered at Area. Nicholas Aburn revisited the Nicolas Ghesquière-era Balenciaga moment made iconic by Jennifer Connelly at the 2005 Met Gala — this time rendered in knotted whites and pared-back styling. In a season shadowed by retail uncertainty, it was a reminder that glamour, even reframed, still thrills. 

Autumn/Winter 2026 may have steadied the industry’s pulse — but it did so in high heels.
